Odoo System Review
A company operating in food production and property rental
The implementation took a little longer than we expected, but the results are well worth it
Just over a year ago we started implementing the Odoo ERP system, and for eight months now we have been using it hands-on in our company's day-to-day operations. We chose Odoo because we received a recommendation from a trusted acquaintance who knew the system well and clearly explained why it was worth choosing.
As is probably inevitable, we faced a few challenges while implementing the system. The whole implementation process took about a year, even though we had hoped it would go faster. We did not run into any major problems, but in reality everything turned out to be more complex than it sounded when listening to the theory. Still, the most important thing is that there were only a few hiccups and we managed to overcome them all.
Our company is small, so only two people worked on this implementation -- one employee and the company director. Since we also decided to integrate Odoo with other systems, we brought in external partners with extensive experience working with the platform to help us.
Right now we mostly use the e-commerce and events modules -- it is very convenient to have everything together in one system. We have also recently started using the accounting and internal planning modules -- so far everything looks very convenient.
We have noticed that since implementing Odoo there is far less sending of documents back and forth, because everything can be uploaded and found within the system itself. It has also become easier to communicate inside the company, because everyone in one place can see the same information and carry out tasks independently.
Looking back over time, we can see that we could have implemented this system faster, and that is what we would advise others to do, because what you hear during training is one thing in theory, and it is something else entirely once you actually have to use it in practice.
